By Our Reporter Hindu heritageThe Nepali version of “The Hindu Heritage of Pakistan” translated by journalist Rajan Karki was launched amidst a function on Friday here. RPP Chairman and former DPM Kamal Thapa, Charge d’Affaires (a.i.) of Pakistan Javed Ahmed Umrani, former chairman of the Federation of World Hindu Council Hembahadur Karki, secretary general of the Pashupati Area Development Fund jointly released the Nepali version of the book. Originally written by Dr. Safdar Ali Shah and Said Javed A Kaji in English is translated by Karki. The book provides huge stock of information on how Pakistan has preserved the Hindu heritage sites. Speaking at the function, RPP chair Thapa said that the Hindu philosophy is deeply related with the Sindhu River civilization. Thapa said“it is assumed that the Rig Veda was authored at the bank of Sindhu River.” Thapa also said that Sindhu River is cited in Ramayan and Mahavarat like holly manuscripts. Thapa thanked the Pakistan government for preserving Hindu shrines and heritage. Govinda Tandan, member secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Fund said that the publication will be helpful to know about Hindu shrines and heritage in Pakistan. Hem Bahadur Karki and translator Rajan Karki shed light about the book. Charge d’Affaires Umrani informed that Hindu population is identified as minority group. The government has provided reservation for the minority groups. He also said that the Pakistan government has preserved Hindu shrines and the newly published book will help the Nepalese to know about the Hindu shrines in Pakistan.
