By Our Reporter image001United Traders Syndicate (UTS), the sole distributor of Toyota vehicles in Nepal established in 1967 AD, celebrated its 50th anniversary in Nepal with various events in Kathmandu on March 30th. The events were kicked off with the grand inauguration of Toyota’s new state of the art 3S (Sales, Service, Spare) facility in the newly constructed VOITH Complex at Anandanagar, Dhumbarahi from the hands of Suraj Vaidya, President - UTS, Mrs. Ritu S. Vaidya, Managing Director – UTS, Hiroyuki Fukui, President - Toyota Motor Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (TMAP) and other delegates from Toyota Motor Group. image002The program was followed by the inauguration of a community park built by UTS next to the new VOITH Complex, gracefully named ‘Anandanagar Bijay Uddhan’. The park was jointly inaugurated by Kishor Shakya, President- Adhikar Sampanna Bagmati Sabhyata Bikash Samiti, Bhim Bahadur Bhandari, Anandanagar Tole Sudhar Samiti and Suraj Vaidya, President – UTS which was followed by a tree plantation at the community park. The days’ big event was organized in the evening at Hyatt Regency, Boudha where national and international delegates and guests enjoyed a dinner reception. Suraj Vaidya, Mrs. Ritu S. Vaidya and Hiroyuki Fukui, addressed the attendees at the event. Suraj Vaidya’s daughter Sabana Vaidya recalled contribution of her grandfather Dr Vijaya Gajananda Vaidya who had established UTS.  The event also featured renowned Nepali musician Ani Choying Dolma who mesmerized the attendees with her soulful voice. During the event, VOITH Spirit of Excellence-2017 was held where influential personalities and organizations from Education, Health and Media sectors of Nepal were felicitated and awarded for their contribution in their respective fields. In the field of education Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma was felicitated and Teach for Nepal was awarded. Similarly, Dr. Sanduk Ruit was felicitated and an organization named 'Possible' was awarded in the Health Category for their contribution in the Nepalese Health sector. Likewise, Nir Shah was felicitated in the Media category for his dedication to the craft over the years while Manoj Pandey and Ms. Charu Chaddha were awarded for the same category. At the end of the eventful day, Toyota officially launched its two new vehicles All New Innova Crysta and All New Fortuner.
