Ghumante: The Amazing Travellers, an organisation that works for the preservation of nature and wildlife, is organising a photography exhibit, Art for Animals, at the BAC Art Café in Pulchowk on March 11. The show is being organised in collaboration with Sachet Nagarik Abhiyan.
According to the organisers, the show is an attempt to pressure the concerned authorities to draw back the legislation that allows private companies to farm wild animals for any kind of commercial use, a bill recently introduced in the parliament.
“We stand against wildlife-breeding and we stand for art. Ghumante is ready to share compassion and love for all beings through portraits that will make you search for your soul in every other being,” said the organisers, issuing a press note. “From the mesmerising and powerful images to sometimes haunting photojournalism—Art for Animals shows off-worldly wonders, and offers a full-exposure of art and thought.”
This event will also host a poetry recitation programme spearheaded by Word Warriors, a spoken word poetry group.
