Diabetes Nepal and Health Exchange Nepal-UK organised the Indo-Nepal-UK Diabetes Meeting & Annual Professional Conference on Diabetes in Nepal with the aim of creating awareness among the people in South Asia on increasing trend of diabetes disease and its control measures.
Inaugurating the seminar, literate Sattyamohan Joshi said that tension free life would help to keep us healthy.
It is better to avoid disease rather than go for treatment after being suffered from the disease, Joshi said. Balanced food and disciplined lifestyle would keep a person healthy, he said.
The program well attended by senior medical practitionerfrom Nepal, India and the UK chaired by RoshankrishnaNyachyao, chairman, Diabetes Nepal was addressed by Prof. Dr. SattyanayanRajbhandari (UK), Prof. Neeta Deshpandey (India), senior medical practitioner at the Teaching Hospital Prof DrPrdeep Krishna Shrestha, general secretary of the Diabetes Nepal, KailashPradhan had shed light on diabetes disease and its control measures.
Dr Jaya Pradhan had presented her paper on nutrition. Also, experts from the UK, India and Nepal had presented paper at the workshop.
Accordingly, on 1 March, the Diabetes Nepal had organised an awareness program in Pokhara and an orientation program was organised at the TU Teaching Hospital to nurses, nutritionist and dieticians on 3 March.
Diabetes Nepal, established seven years ago is organizing different awareness programs in a regular basis.
