Wild elephants killed two persons, including a 13-year-old girl, in a community forest of Jhapa Sunday
The deceased were identified as 13 – year – old Sharmila Limbu and Palmaya Subba, 41, of Bhadrapur – 2. The attack took place when they were foraging for fodder at the Mayalu Community Forest, said police.
Palmaya's body was found on Sunday while Sharmila's on Monday. The girl's body was found by the locals, police and District Forest Office, Jhapa said.
Meanwhile, a water buffalo killed an elderly person in siraha.
Bachchilal Yadav, 71, of Kabilas VDC was killed in the attack.
He was attacked by the he-buffalo when he tried to chase it away from the wheat field, said Area Police Office, Pato.
He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at local Gajendra Narayan Singh Zonal Hospital, police added.
In another buffalo attack in Sunsari, a woman was seriously injured..
Radha Devi Khatwe, 40, of Madhuban – 1 was injured in the attack, said District Police Office, Sunsari.
Radha was collecting fodder in the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve when the buffalo attacked her.
