Former King Gyanendra who is expressing worry on the present state of chaos in the country, has urged all the Nepalis to be united under the Nepali national flag to safeguard existence, pride and glory of the country permanently.
In a message to the countrymen on the occasion of the 295th birth anniversary of King Prithivi Narayan Shah the Great, on 27 Pous, the form
er King has recalled that due to hard struggle, visionary leadership of King Prithivi Narayan Shah the Great along with the efforts of the Nepali people and brave army, Nepalis have achieved this nation.
“When the country’s nationalism, national unity and social harmony face crisis, it is obviously a matter of serious worry for all the patriotic Nepalis”, the former King has said.
Those, who have interrupt unity among the peace loving people, weakening sovereignty of the nation, weakening state organs,weakening geographical and regional indivisibility have committed unpardonable crime against Nepali and Nepalis.
“Accordingly, the very people are making efforts to destroy the bases of language, religion, culture and national identity”, the former King has stated.
“Following the tradition that the King’s wishes are guided by the wishes of the Nepali people, by viewing the then situation, we had quit the Narayanhitty Royal Palace,however, we have not remained aloof from our responsibility towards Nepal and the Nepalis”.
“Within a decade, we have reached to a serious stage that whether the country will be alive or not.”
“The nation should not be a playground of any one”, said the former King and added, “Only through unity, harmony, patriotism and love among all the Nepalis, we can save Nepal’s existence and identity”.
“All the Nepalisliving in and outside the country, should demonstrate the example that when the nation faces crisis, we all should have to be united.”
“At a time when the international community is competing for prosperity, we are heading towards stagnation, at a time when awareness has been intensified for patriotism, at the resent context, we are witnessing activities creating threat to the existence of the nation”.
“This is sorrowful and unfortunate. Such a situation has to be ended.”
Finally, as a Nepali and the heir of Prithivi Narayan Shah, the former King has urged for unity among all the Nepalis under the national flag to save Nepal’s existence, pride and glory of the nation.
