Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has issued Network Service Provider (NSP) licence to private telecom operator Ncell.
Ncell had applied for NSP at NTA a long time back. Obtaining NSP licence means that Ncell can now enter into bandwidth trading in the domestic market by selling its existing bandwidth to other parties as well.
Purshottam Khanal officer at NTA said that Ncell was issued NSP licence after it met all the legal standards set by the government for NSP, including tax clearance.
However, NTA is yet to issue 4G licence to Ncell though it had submitted its 4G roll out plan a month ago.
On the other hand, NT is all set to launch its 4G service from January 1 in the Capital and Pokhara.
