By Our Reporter The property statements made public by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and other ministers have come as big jokes for the public and experts concerned. They are highly unconvincing and at odds with the lifestyles of the leaders. Considering the difference between the lavish lifestyle of Prime Minister Dahal and other ministers, voices have been raised to investigate into such disparity between the property details  of the leaders and their lifestyle. Former chief secretary Dr Bimal Koirala said the imbalance between the property details and life styles of our leaders could be a matter for investigations. Much to everyone's surprise, the prime minister stated that all he has by way of property is one kattha of land in his wife Sita's name in Chitwan and 3 tola (34.992 grams) of gold. How people can believe this when they have been witnessing that Dahal has been living like a king right after he became public in 2008? He has been staying in a mansion paying millions of rupees in rent. There are people who believe that Mukti Tower of New Bnaeshwore belongs to Dahal and he has a share in the Chandragiri Cable Car. The money that he misused from the fund allocated for the combatants might be stored in foreign banks. The social sites were full of details of property believed to own by Dahal after the unconvincing property details were made public nine days back. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara also stated that he owns very little property. He stated that he owns a two-storey Nepali style house, a cow shed and seven ropani of land in Rolpa district, and has Rs 80,000 at Everest Bank. Individuals from various sectors and the public in general criticised the leaders for not making public the real extent of their property holdings claiming that the lavish lifestyles of the leaders make a mockery of the property statements that they have issued. They said that those leaders who have projected themselves as implausibly poor can be a subject for investigations and urged the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA)  to look into the matter. According to them, the property details of the prime minister and some other ministers did not reflect reality. Former CIAA chief Surya Nath Upadhya told a daily that the CIAA could recommend legal action if any person holding public office has tried to hide his/her property holdings. However, a few ministers including Deputy Prime Minister Bimalendra Nidhi, Minister Sri Prasaad Jabegu and Minister Deepak Giri might have shown the actual property details. All these three ministers, according to the property details they made public, are millionaire ministers of the cabinet headed by ‘pauper’ prime minister!
