Senior journalist and literate Madan Dhakal, 65, passed away on 8 December in at the Purna-Tung Birta City Hospital in Birtamod, Jhapa while undergoing treatment.
Dhakal, chief editor of Jhapa’s popular daily, Purbanchal Dainik, was suffering from diabetes and kidney disease. On 7 December, he was rushed to the hospital after he felt respiratory problem.
Dhakal, former central committee member of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists had worked for many dailies and weeklies publishing from Kathmandu, Jhapa and Siluguri.
Dhakal is survived by wife, one son and four daughters.
