image001Jeffrey David Sachs, an American economist and director of The Earth Institute at Columbia University, on Tuesday visited Chandragiri Hills with his family on an unofficial tour. In the visitors’ book maintained at Chandragiri Hills, Sachs mentioned that he is highly impressed by the infrastructure of Chandragiri Hills. He also congratulated IME Group Chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal for establishing such an infrastructure at an amazingly breath taking tourist spot and bringing the destination at the reach of tourists from all around the world. He has also wished Nepal and all Nepalesepeace, harmony and prosperity. Sachs is the Quetelet Professor of Sustainable Development at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs and a professor of health policy and management at Columbia’s School of Public Health. He is special adviser to the former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon on the Millennium Development Goals, having held the same position under former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
