Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal – both the parties of former panchas – have decided to initiate merger process.
RPP chair Pashupati Shumsher Rana and RPP Nepal chair Kamal Thapa have already signed a memorandum of understanding to unify the two parties.
It has been planned to announce the merger of the two parties on 21 November amidst a function. According to sources, Rana will hold the post of national chairman whereas Thapa will hold the position of the executive chairman of the unified party. RPP has agreed to adopt the Hindu agenda whereas the agenda of constitutional monarchy will be decided by the national convention of the party to be held within three months of unification of the two RPPs.
To recall, RPPN is backing the agenda of Hindu Kingdom.
