By Our Reporter  The Kathmanduites experienced unofficial curfew for two days during Indian President’s state visit to Nepal. The traffic system virtually came to a halt for two consecutive days while the aviation service was also affected as the Tribhuvan International Airport remained closed for hours during his arrival and departure. Many internationals flights were either diverted or forced to hold in sky while the flight schedules of the domestic air services were delayed by hours on Wednesday and Friday. Bouddha, Chabahil, Gausala, Airport, New Baneshwor, Maitighar and Putali Sadak portions of the key highway was affected the most. Even the patients including mothers of newborns were not spared. A man who was carrying blood needed for his ailing brother was prevented from crossing the road. In the past people used to line up on the roadside to greet the visiting delegates but the people did not come to the street to greet the Indian President not because of curfew but they did not want to welcome him. Even the visiting might have felt uneasy while passing through the desert-like road in the midday. Professor Prem Khatry in his article printed on The Rising Nepal, the official English daily, wrote that the Indian President might feel he was passing through the deserted and humanless road!
