By Our Reporter The government of Nepal maintained unusual tight security during Indian President Pranab Mukherjee’s Nepal visit. Sources say a very high level security was provided to President Mukherjee due to open border and growing tension between India and Pakistan. Such fear was unusual as anybody can enter Nepal from India or vice versa taking advantage of the open border between Nepal and India. Had the Nepal-India border was regulated as India-Bangladesh border, there will be less fear of unwanted incident during the high level visit. However, India has never been ready to regulate the border and stop the free flow of people. When all visitors have to present documents like passports to cross the borders, the movements of criminals will automatically be controlled. Hence, authorities of both Nepal and India should not delay in regulating the border.
