But our PM never visits the famous shrine

By Our Reporter The President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee visiting the Pashupatinath Temple, in Kathmandu, Nepal on November 03, 2016. The Minister of State for Defence, Shri Subhash Ramrao Bhamre is also seen. Paying homage to Lord Pashupati Nath was one of the main objectives of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee during his Nepal visit. He fulfilled this objecting by offering a special worship at the temple on the second day of his visit. When the head of the state of India, a secular country, gives first priority to visit and offer worship at the Pashupati Nath Temple, our Prime Minister never visit the temple in the name of respecting the secularism. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal did not receive or offer Tika during Dashain and Tihar festival though he was pictured participating at Chhat puja on Sunday. Dahal did not visit the Pashupati Nath Temple. In 2008, supporters of his party, then CPN-Maoist, had vandalized the temple areas obstructing regular worship for over a week. The act was explained as a bad omen for Dahal and his party by the Hindu scholars and that turned somewhat true. Not only the position of the CPN-Maoist dropped to third from the first in six years, it broke to several small parties. A few who believed in the divine power of Pashupati Nath Temple had even predicted that Dahal would never become Nepal’s PM again. But he became only in the backing of the southern neighbour. The people were unhappy when Dahal did not show respect to the festivals of Dashain and Tihar and when denied wearing Daura Suruwal. They thought he did not mark Dashain and Tihar because he was a Christian. They also blamed him for receiving money from the Christians organizations. Once when he offered worship to a he-buffalo in Sunsari, the people had made a mockery of his act. When Dahal does not wear Daura and Suruwal and mark Dashain, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun was attired in the national cad of Daura Suruwal while taking the oath of office and while meeting Indian President. He even posted a photo showing him offering tika to his sons during Dashain. By rejecting to wear Daura Suruwal and not marking the traditional festivals, Dahal has only lost his popularity among the masses.
