The other day, former prime minister and chairman of the second largest party UML, KP Sharma Oli remarked why the NC leaders have remained silent on the government’s policy!
There is no official reaction on the 25-point joint statement issued during the visit of our prime minister Pushpakamal Dahal to Delhi. Understandably, the foreign ministry portfolio belongs to the NC minister. Therefore, without knowledge of the NC, the joint statement was not issued. The joint statement was an Indian effort to keep Nepal under the Indian umbrella at the par of Bhutan’s present status.
NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba has kept his mouth shut, neither has he consulted with other colleagues within his own party. Therefore, the Ramchandra Poudel faction in the party had to hold a separate meeting as the members of the group was unaware on the NC’s present policy regarding the amendment of the constitution and also about the foreign policy of the country.
Regarding the amendment of the constitution, it seems, Deuba has given total authority to DPM Bimalendra Nidhi, who is close to India. Nidhi, in the interests of Indians, is trying to separate the tarai districts from the hill districts. Also, Nidhi is trying to include the Hindi language as the national/official language to be used even in the government offices and also trying to include the provision of becoming chief executive and also chief of the security forces by the naturalized citizens, specially those Indians who have acquired naturalized citizenship.
It seems, the present NC and Maoist Center alliance government has been formed by Delhi to disintegrate and finally to split the nation. They are doing nothing except from acting as traitors!
