Nepalinked’ Tattoo Convention took place at RS Moto, a motorcycle design shop, in Naxal on September 2 - 4. This was the third edition of ‘Nepalinked Tattoo Convention’ which RS Moto hosts every year where we could see many tattoo enthusiasts from different countries.
This year’s convention focused on exposing tattoo designs inspired by Nepal’s rich tradition. This convention brought many national and international tattoo artists and featured live demonstrations and art exhibitions.
The venue consisted of two areas: The indoor hall where all kinds of art works were displayed and the outdoor fete where the gigs and stunts were staged.
The indoor hall hosted competitions and exhibitions on tattoo art and piercing. All the stalls had put up elaborate posters showcasing the artists’ impressive tattoo art portfolios etc. We could see people stretching their legs, arms, backs to get their body inked.
The outdoor ground was an equally happening place. As promised, the entertainment stalls included product sales and food and drinks which a lot of people enjoyed. People were jamming to the melodious tunes, the live music had everyone entertained with fusion of different instruments.
A small area was allocated for skateboard stunts where young Nepali boys showed their skills. There were also a few stalls which sold custom made t-shirts and authentic Nepal made wears.
The three day convention witnessed entertainment events and exhibitions comprising tattoo lovers, ink suppliers and 88 tattoo artists. The major ‘7th International Nepal Tattoo Convention’ is to take place in April of next year but this mini convention was hosted on public demand that shows the love for tattoo, art and western culture.
