NirvikBy Our Reporter Senior journalist having patriotic stance, Dilliram Nirvik, 78, passed away on Wednesday, 3 August. Born in Shantipur, Ilam, Nirvik devoted his entire life in the profession of journalism. He launched Hijo-Aaja vernacular daily, among others, from Bhadrapur in Jhapa district. The daily was being published in a regular basis for decades. In fact, lacking of resources in the districts, it was a Herculean task to bring out a daily newspaper from outside the Valley, nevertheless, Nirvik struggled hard to establish his newspaper. As a journalist, Nirvik also served as member of the Press Council, Federation of the Nepalese Journalists, Nepal Press Institute, board member of the national news service RSS and the Gorkhapatra Corporation. The late Nirvik was suffering from brain cancer for the last several months. He is survived by his wife and two sons. The demise of Nirvik is a great loss to the nation.
