On the issue of whether to join the government or not, the unification process of the two parties -- RPP and RPPN scheduled for 9 August was disturbed.
RPPN has taken the stance for not joining the present the NC-MC coalition government. It was sure that RPPN would have disturbed the desire of those RPP leaders willing to join the government. Therefore, under the pressure of those leaders in a hurry to join the government, RPP chairman Pashupati Shumsher Rana abruptly announced the postponement of the RPP-RPPN unification process and the party decided to send two MPs – Dipak Bohara and Bikram Pandey – to join the government.
Meanwhile, a source informed that two days ahead of the unification assembly of the two parties, an Indian diplomat was having dinner with RPP chair Rana. After the dinner meeting, Rana changed his mind and announced the cancellation of the unification process scheduled for 9 August.
The two parties, after finalizing all the process, had even booked a hall at the Rastriya Sabha Griha but without any consultation with RPPN chair Kamal Thapa, Rana had announced cancellation of the unification declaration programme.
