
Nepali documentary feature Bhagye le Bachekaharu (Nepal Earthquake: Heroes, Survivors and Miracles)directed by Ganesh Pandey will be screened at nine film festivals across Europe this year. The documentary, which has already bagged several international accolades, is now slated to be screened at festivals in Switzerland, Italy, Slovakia, Poland, Bulgaria, Finland, Slovenia and the Netherlands. The 45-minute long documentary, tells the stories of the survivors of the last year’s earthquakes.
“The film has been selected mostly for Mountain film festivals across Europe. I believe that this series of screenings will help promote Nepal and bring the difficult reconstruction processto light,” says director Pandey.
The film’s unprecedented run of popularity started off with two wins at last year’s Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival 2015 (KIMFF). The documentary bagged awards for Best Documentary under Nepal Panorama section and Public Choice Award at the festival.
The film, produced by SharadaGaire, under the banner of Samrat Movies, and edited by Kumar Shah, features live scenes of the chaos in the immediate aftermath of the quakes and how lucky some survivors were to escape death.
