Fishtail-Air6By Our Reporter In a week of the appointment of Pushpa Kamal Dahal as the 39th prime minister of Nepal, the country witnessed two air crashes killing seven persons. Four days after an aircraft belonging to Makalu Air made a force-landing in the  Karnali River of Rauterana in Mugu, a helicopter belonging to Fishtail Air crashed at Betini, Belkot VDC-8 of Nuwakot district on Monday, killing all seven on board, including the pilot and a new-born baby. The ill-fated chopper, was flying to Kathmandu from Sirdibas VDC in Gorkha district, carrying a 19-year-old woman facing medical complications after childbirth, and her five-day-old baby. The woman's father-in-law Kitman Gurung, 65 and his wife Agyani Gurung, 56 also died in the crash.  Laxmi Gurung of the same village and health worker Nisha Tamanag of Itahari, Sunsari district, who were accompanying the sick party, perished in the incident. Earlier on August 4, a single-engine aircraft belonging to Makalu Air made a force landing at a river in Simikot after encountering engine failure. However no  one was killed in the incident. The plane was carrying cargo after government issued order to halt passenger charter flights by single-engine planes in early March. The two air crashes showed that the country is to face more accidents during Dahal’s tenure. In 2008, the Koshi swept away several settlements in Sunsari the next day Dahal had become the Prime Minister.
