‘Bhavisyavani’ collection of poetry released

‘Bhavisyavani’, a collection of poetry was released on July 9 at the Bikalpa Art Centre Cafe, Pulchowk in Kathmandu published bythe London-based e-magazine Dreams, an online culture and art magazine that also operates from Nepal. The collection of poems comprises a total of 20 pieces of poetry that were recited during last year’s national poetry competition in Nepali—titled Bhavisyavani—, also organised by the e-magazine. The competition that took place on August last year was mentored by a number of acclaimed Nepali poets and the Word Warriors group. The poems in the collection mainly depict the themes of a better tomorrow and the hope to rise up from ruins. The launch event saw the top three poets of the competition – GareemaRana, LaxmanShrestha and RamnathKhanal – reciting their winning poems. Each of them have won cash prize of Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. “At the moment, poetry has become too easy. Anyone can stitch up words and claim it to be poetry.
