By Our Reporter As many as eight lawmakers of the CPN-Maoist centre were found involved in the illegal acts of human trafficking. These MPs had included names of additional individuals as their aides in the documents they had submitted to the New Delhi based Spanish Embassy over a month back with an intention of taking them to Spain during their upcoming visit to the European nation. When the Spanish Embassy after consulting with the Delhi-based Nepali Embassy returned their documents to Kathmandu for investigation, the 8 MPs, all of them elected under the Proportional Representative electoral system, are now being scanned from both the CPN-Maoist centre and the police. The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police has launched a probe against the lawmakers on charges of documentary forges and human trafficking. The MPs who submitted the fake documents include Dor Prasad Upadhaya, Srijana Tamaru Khatri, Goma Kumari, Santa Kumar Tharu,Rupa Maharjan Shrestha, Ram Maya Bogati, Dil Maya Dhami and Dhana Pahari. It is suspected that these MPs included the names of several individuals as their aides at the suggestions of some ‘big human trafficker’ in the hope of getting a big sum of money. However, their illegal acts have put their post of MPs at risk. Above all, involvement of Maoist MPs elected to the parliament through PR system proved that how the parties were electing the individuals with criminal mind-set as their MPs.  This incident itself proves that the PR system has been a means for the leaders to make money, not to appoint genuine individuals to the parliament. There was also a news report regarding the involvement of the ninth Maoist MP in the human trafficking rackets. However, the name of the ninth MP was not made public citing that making the name public might affect the investigation.
