The Nepali team was led by former foreign Minister Dr Bhekh Bahadur Thapa while the Indian side was led by Bhagat Singh Koshyari, the former chief minister of Uttarakhand and noted BJP leader. Other members included in the EPG are former minister Nilambar Acharya, Surya Nath Upadhyaya (former CIAA chief),and Rajan Bhattarai from Nepal while former ambassador to Nepal Jayanta Prasad, Prof Mahendra P Lama and BC Uprety are from the Indian side. The meeting was expected to study and review the past bilateral treaties and agreements reached between the two neighbours.
