
Following reduction in price of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF), one-way airfares of domestic flights went down by up to Rs 384 on Monday.
A meeting of Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN), the umbrella organization of domestic airlines held on Sunday, decided to lower airfare by a maximum of Rs 385 depending on routes.
Nepal Oil Corporation, the sole supplier of petroleum products in the country, slashed the price of aviation fuel by Rs 10 per litre to Rs 99 on Saturday.
With the latest fall in aviation fuel price, the AOAN has also revised fuel surcharge for all the domestic routes. According to AOAN, aircraft to Simara - the nearest destination from Kathmandu - has been reduced by Rs 115, while airfare to Dhangadi - the farthest destination from the Kathmandu - has come down by Rs 385. As per the revised rate, airfare from Kathmandu to Simara and Dhangadi will cost Rs 2,650 and Rs 10,605, respectively.
Airfare from Kathmandu to Pokhara and Bhairahawa has been reduced by Rs 165 and Rs 205, respectively, to Rs 4,230 and Rs 5,300.
Airfares to Biratnagar and Bhadrapur have come down by Rs 235 and Rs 275 to Rs6,055 and Rs 7,385, respectively. Cost of mountain flight has also come down from Rs 9,385 to Rs 9,010, according to AOAN.
